Some may not be allowed to fly
As of June 15, 2020, Air Canada is conducting final check of travel capability during boarding procedures at Narita Airport.
Currently, the Canadian government has restrictions on the entry of foreign nationals. When a passenger other than a Canadian nationality, a Canadian permanent resident, or a close relative of the same leaves the country at Narita Airport, the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) is being contacted to determine if the person’s traveling to Canada is necessary.
Therefore, depending on the decision of CBSA, you may not be able to travel even if you have a work visa or a student visa. For spouses, you may also need a document to prove your marriage.
Air Canada is currently operating the Narita/Vancouver route as an airline connecting Japan and Canada.
