Experience Hakata: Rakutenchi Motsunabe Theme Park Opens!

Driven by their vision to become “the Motsunabe King of the World” and share the deliciousness of Hakata’s famous motsunabe (offal hot pot) with international visitors, for this reason, Rakutenchi opened a location in the Fukuoka Airport International Terminal food hall in April 2025. Now, however, they are taking things a step further.

Three New Restaurants in One Location

Experience Hakata: Rakutenchi Motsunabe Theme Park Opens!

To celebrate the massive popularity of the “Motsunabe Champon,” Rakutenchi is launching a new food concept! On December 12, 2025, three new stores are opening simultaneously, that is, in one location: Ganso Motsunabe Champon Rakutenchi, Ganso Motsunabe Motsuyaki Rakutenchi, and Motsusakaba Rakutenchi Café Bar.

Hakata Culture and Maximum Seating

This combined space offers a maximum capacity of 258 seats, undoubtedly, making it their largest venue yet. Furthermore, this location is set to become an exciting theme park atmosphere for both tourists and locals. You can even see an exhibition of the real Hakata Gion Yamakasa floats, thereby, allowing you to immerse yourself in Hakata’s history and culture. Specifically, the walls already feature details about Hakata’s history.(Note: A small-scale Hakata Gion Yamakasa will be displayed around May 2026.)

Ganso Motsunabe Champon: Motsunabe Fast Food

Ganso Motsunabe Champon Rakutenchi is a new specialty store dedicated to the highly praised Motsunabe Champon (¥980/incl. tax ¥1,078). This exquisite dish features rich offal and vegetable umami soaked into the chewy champon noodles. And at an affordable price, therefore, it offers great satisfaction and volume, including the satisfying champon noodles right from the start.

The Motsu Takoyaki Surprise

Most notably, in addition, they include “Hakata Motsu Takoyaki”—octopus balls with a savory offal broth-soaked filling. The goal is to make motsunabe a fast-food option; you can eat this dish in just 7 minutes! The store features a 10-burner kitchen, establishing a perfect system to serve the piping hot food quickly. Consequently, therefore, tourists, commuters, and locals can easily enjoy this new Hakata standard.

Ganso Motsunabe Motsuyaki: Beyond the Hot Pot

At Ganso Motsunabe Motsuyaki Rakutenchi, you can enjoy both motsunabe and motsuyaki (grilled offal). The store selects fresh offal with exceptional flavor. To illustrate, by way of example, they highly recommend the “Taisho Tokusen Harami Steak.” Interestingly, this is actually beef offal (diaphragm).

The Taisho Tokusen Harami Steak

Its exquisite marbling and incredibly tender texture bring smiles to customers’ faces. They serve the juicy, medium-rare steak with savory garlic chips and salt. This pairing makes a perfect match for freshly cooked rice, ensuring a truly addictive experience popular with women, too.

Motsusakaba Café Bar: All-You-Can-Eat Buffet

The Motsusakaba Rakutenchi Café Bar offers the wildly popular buffet (¥1,900/incl. tax ¥2,090) from the APA Hotel Hakata Ekihigashi store for breakfast and lunch only. Here, as anticipated, the buffet allows you to choose between two authentic hot pots: Hakata Motsunabe and Ureshino Onsen Yudofu Nabe, with both offered as all-you-can-eat!

Unlimited Fun and Healthy Options

You can enjoy all the specialty ingredients, including for instance, offal, chives, cabbage, and champon noodles, to your heart’s content. They even offer the fun Rakutenchi Specialty Chive Piling Experience! Furthermore, the light, special soup is healthy and popular with women, making it easy to eat for breakfast or lunch.

The President’s Unique Recipe

Additionally, along with these options, the President’s recommended “Onsen Yudofu Motsunabe” combines the milky flavor of yudofu with the umami of offal, pork, chicken, and vegetables in a white motsunabe, offering a delightful sweetness. They also offer various side dishes, such as mentaiko (spicy cod roe) and Motsunabe King Curry, which you can serve yourself. You also get all-you-can-drink beverages.

Evening Izakaya Atmosphere

In the evening, the venue transforms into a Motsusakaba (Offal Tavern) Café Bar, where you can enjoy motsunabe and drinks in a yatai (food stall) style, perhaps even while viewing the Yamakasa float display.

The Secret Behind Motsunabe Champon

The opportunity to open a store in the Fukuoka Airport International Terminal food hall in April 2025 became the catalyst for the Motsunabe Champon. Traditional motsunabe requires about 90 minutes of dining time—a luxury travelers right before departure often lack.

A 7-Minute Motsunabe Solution

Therefore, Rakutenchi created a new genre of motsunabe—the Motsunabe Champon—specifically for customers who wanted to savor delicious motsunabe quickly. It takes only about 7 minutes to eat, making it perfect for office workers for lunch. Unlike a traditional hot pot, one person can easily enjoy it.

Keeping the Bowl Piping Hot

They serve all the ingredients—offal, motsu takoyaki, mochi (rice cakes), and champon noodles—simmered together in a ramen-style bowl using a specialized, iron-infused earthenware bowl. As a result, this keeps the dish bubbling hot until the very last bite! This innovation allows people to enjoy authentic motsunabe flavor quickly and conveniently, making it a new standard for travelers and locals alike.
