“Sushi Purse” Now Available To Purchase Online

The sushi fabric brand “Maison Sushi” produced by the design office Necton partnered up with Tanabe Textile Co., Ltd. in Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi to develop a new sushi purse at “Makueke”, an online service that allows you to support and purchase sushi and experiences. Pre-sale has started on December 24 and will go on through February 16, 2021.

Maison sushi produces various items with the concept “Make everything in the world sushi”. So this time, they have newly developed a sushi purse with a gusset that helps organize the contents of the bag.

How to make Sushi fabric

They use sushi fabric that was developed over three years with a long-established textile manufacturer, Tanabe Textile. They applied a technique called blistering weave to give a texture to the fabric, and reproduced the texture of Gin Shari with rice grains standing on it. By weaving a glitter thread that reflects light into some of the material, it expresses the luster of the greasy body and fish skin.
