An Italian grill restaurant in Nakameguro “Mark Matsuoka Grill Nakameguro” will launch the seasonal Cherry Blossom (“sakura” in Japanese) menu on March 17 for a limited time.

“Mark Matsuoka” – Is this owned by a Japanese American?

The owner Mark Takase (right)

Honestly, we thought Mark Matsuoka was a Japanese American living in the States, but it’s not. The name of the restaurant “Mark Matsuoka” comes from 2 people. Mark is the owner Mr. Takase. He was called Mark when he was living and working in New York as a financial specialist. And Matsuoka is his business partner and a meat supplier in Hyogo. He specializes in top-quality “Shikata Beef”. So you can tell how good the restaurant’s meat dishes are!

Foreigner-friendly restaurant

Also, Mark Matsuoka Grill is a foreigner-friendly restaurant. In fact, they have many non-Japanese return customers. You can tell from their menu. English comes first.

Perfectly located by Meguro River – the best sakura spot

Are you looking for a place to watch cherry blossoms this spring? This is the perfect spot for you! The restaurant is located along the Meguro River with beautiful Sakura trees. And their chef who trained in Italy will offer Sakura-inspired Italian dishes. By the way, Meguro River is one of the most popular sakura-watching areas in Tokyo.

So the first dish is the main dish “Shikata Beef Steak Seasonal Style”. It’s Tagliata, a meat dish that originated in the Tuscany region in central Italy. Enjoy thick slices of Shikata beef with cherry blossom-flavored salt and sakura leaves & rhubarb jam. And the gentle sweetness of the potato puree brings out the flavor of the Shikata beef red meat.

*Lunch served with soup, salad, multigrain rice, or baguette

Appetizer: Marinated Salmon Seasonal Style (¥2,420)

This is a marinated salmon dish wrapped in cherry blossom leaves for a fragrant finish. The fatty salmon is served with celery root puree and a pickled small onion for a refreshing taste. And the richness of the celery root creates a more sophisticated taste. (Exclusive item for DINNER TIME after 4pm).
