As October turns to November, the celebration expands to showcase the diverse food culture of Japan. The 64th Festival of the Harvest (October 31-November 1) brings together specialties from across the country, complete with tastings, direct sales, and even fun activities like pony rides and meeting local mascots! This is followed by two events highlighting regional pride: the 2025 Shinkumi Product Exhibition (November 14), a one-day event where credit unions present their client’s best regional products, and the massive Nippon National Product Exhibition (November 21-23). The latter is one of Japan’s largest, drawing 70,000 visitors in three days with about 200 vendors, creating a super-sized food court featuring tastes from all 47 prefectures.

The festival season concludes with a unique focus on Japan’s archipelagic nature. Islander 2025 (November 22-23) is a special gathering where islands from Hokkaido to Okinawa showcase their culture, nature, and, of course, their exclusive local products and island-inspired food and drinks. Beyond the main halls, the celebration continues at the Sunshine 60 Observatory’s Tenbo Park Cafe. As part of its “Autumn Stroll” event (running through November 30), the cafe offers limited-time seasonal menu items like the “Autumn Feast Bento” (a flavorful mixed rice box) and “Pumpmel” (a latte blending the sweet taste of pumpkin with caramel).
