Bulgari Launches Lunch Box Project

For medical workers fighting against the new Coronavirus

High-end Jeweler Bulgari, in Rome, Italy, continues to support the scientific and medical communities to eradicate the new Coronavirus. Bulgari has been actively engaged in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and initiatives in charitable activities. They have donated as much as US$90 million (about 9.7 billion yen, $1 = 107 yen as of April 20) to an international NGO “Save The Children” for over 10 years since the their partnerships.

For COVID-19 eradication effort, they supported the donation of the latest 3D microscopes to the Italian National Institute of Infectious Diseases Del Vecchio Pavilion. Furthermore, they produced hundreds of thousands of disinfectant hand gels based on their expertise in manufacturing fragrances with ICR’s (Industrie Cosmetiche Riunite SpA), and distributed them to medical facilities throughout Italy a well as those in Switzerland where serious infection is spreading.

Bulgari Japan, as part of its corporate Coronavirus support activities, has decided to launch and deliver nutrition and hygiene-conscious “Italian Bento Boxes” curated by Executive Chef Luca Phantin of Il Ristorante Lanka Phantin (Ginza, Tokyo), a Michelin-starred restaurant of its own Hotels & Resorts division to medical staff working all day at infectious disease designated medical institutions in Tokyo on April 22.

Today, the 22nd, 180 complementary lunch boxes were delivered to medical staff of Tokyo Komagome Hospital. Delivery will be made to National Center for Global Health and Medicine tomorrow the 23rd of April.

This project continues twice a week during the government’s declaration of an emergency.
