Gucci Launches Special Collection Featuring Doraemon
An Italian luxury brand Gucci launched a collab collection “DORAEMON X GUCCI” with the famous Japanese manga “Doraemon” to celebrate the New Year and the year of the Ox.
Japanese popular manga character
Creative Director Alessandro Michele designed a special collection featuring Doraemon, a cat-shaped robot sent from the future of the 22nd century to help Nobita, another main character in the manga story.
Through this collaboration, they celebrate the 50th anniversary of 2020 and the work “Doraemon”. Japanese and world-wide manga fans have been loving the Doraemon over time.
Doraemon also joins ads campaign
Doraemon will also appear in Gucci’s advertising campaign to celebrate the New Year. In this campaign, which uses photographer Angelo Penetta for photography, Doraemon will play a companion who will turn everyday life into a fun adventure. Eat breakfast together, play video games, have a party in the garden, and make fun Doraemon irreplaceable friends and make the people around you happy every day.

Furthermore, Doraemon, disguised as a playful figure after the year of Ox, was specially produced for collaboration with Gucci. Items featuring the exclusive Doraemon will be available starting from the second half of January.
Sustainable package
All items in the DORAEMON X GUCCI collection are placed in a dedicated, sustainable package made from 100% recyclable materials. In addition to the green color package with Doraemon, the swing ticket designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the manga “Doraemon” is also made of the same material.
Furthermore, to celebrate the birth of this collection, Doraemon prints and figures appear on the façade decorations and street installations of selected Gucci shops in cities Japan, Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Doraemon poses against the background of the GG pattern, like a collection item, on the Gucci art walls in Shanghai and Hong Kong.

The DORAEMON X GUCCI collection will be available in Japan on the official Gucci online shop Gucci.com, as well as at Gucci shops nationwide on January 20. An installation will be exhibited at Gucci Shibuya Parco to celebrate the launch of this collection.
Gucci Aoyama, Gucci Ginza, Gucci Shinjuku, and Gucci Nagoya locations will feature “Anywhere Door,” one of the secret tools coming out of his pocket. Experience an adventure that transcends time and space.
