Ikea Japan Rents Out a Small Room For ¥99/Month
IKEA Japan Co., Ltd. is launching a “Tiny Homes Small Room, Spreading Ideas” campaign to rent out a 10m2 studio in Shinjuku for ¥99 a month for a limited time.
“BLÅHAJ” (pronounced “blo-hai”), a popular #IKEA shark on social media, will become a real estate agent and rent out a studio coordinated by IKEA. This promotion sends out a message that you can create a comfortable room even in a limited space.
Application for the accommodation is now available online through December 3, 2021.
IKEA, a solution company
As you know, living space is limited in Japan. And Ikea has solutions for that!
The Swedish furniture shop has suitable items for coordinating in tight spaces. As a home furnishing specialist, they provide items to create a living space full of knowledge and inspiration for living the most comfortable and healthy life. As the name implies, Tiny Homes brings a lot of IKEA inspirational ideas and solutions in a confined space.
Target at Covid-affected younger generations
IKEA also wants to help provide a more comfortable life by proposing easy-to-find inspirations and solutions for those who are financially affected by the Covid pandemic, especially the younger generation.
Tiny Homes real estate agent BLÅHAJ has been set up in IKEA Shibuya, Harajuku, and Shinjuku “City Shop” locations from November 24th through December 3, during the application period. The IKEA City Shops locations offer compact, affordable furniture and sustainable products, mainly targeted at young people living in urban studio apartments.
